Overseas events
Because we are a Polish regiment in French service and our 5th company is in Poland we make a point of visiting Warsaw every other year, usually in August or October to train together at the Polish cavalry school at Stara Miłosna. This usually ties in with an event such as a military Parade or re-enactment as well as a pilgrimage to the Polish Army Museum where we are welcomed as honoured guests.
Our combined companies have participated in Poland’s National Soldiers Day and May Day parades and we have paraded before the President of Poland at the Royal Palace in Warsaw.
We have also attended the annual Waterloo events on a regular basis and have charged British and Dutch Belgian squares on the actual battlefield as well as providing a Honour Guard to the Emperor.
Our visit usually lasts a week and most members take advantage of early flight bookings to get a cheap economy seats. At the same time we have a road party which travels in convoy with our uniforms, tenting and equipment and takes about nine days. It has been known for members who are tight for time to fly in and out in 3 days.
Flights are paid for by individual members as are the costs of hotels. Those who travel by road contribute collectively to the cost of petrol with a subsidy from the Regiment.
We are also committed to supporting the Napoleonic Bi-centennial events covering the Napoleonic period and in this respect have participated at the Bi- centennial battles of Austerlitz, Pultusk, Jena and Somosierra to date.
Home Events
Over the past 17 years the regiment has had a great deal of support both in research and grants from the Polish community in the UK.
It is the aim of the Regiment to support where we can events held by the Polish community.
Over the years the Regiment has supported the Polish Festival usually held at Bletchley Park as well as being engaged in promotional work for Polish businesses in the UK.
It has also provided an honour guard at wedding functions and has been involved in film work for the History Channel.
We have also supported the multi living-history event ‘Military Odyssey’ at Detling, Kent for a number of years.

The year 2012th opens a four-year cycle of the 200th anniversary of the Napoleonic campaigns (1812, Moscow, 1813 German, 1814 French and 100 days of Napoleon in 1815-it), this calendar is a very conservative, and until it is confirmed, or more specific message does not include a series of events across Europe, which we have the invitation.
